When the iOS 4.3 beta was released, Apple introduced some newborn quaternary and five-finger multitasking gestures for iPad. These newborn gestures enabled users to apace switch between apps, go backwards to the homescreen, or advert the multitasking tray.
Unfortunately the gestures never made it to the open promulgation of iOS 4.3. However, for those observed users, the gestures could still be enabled via Xcode ($4.99 on the Mac App Store).
