Dev-Team Warns Not To Update To iOS 4.1

With Apple expected to promulgation iOS 4.1 today, the iPhone Dev-Team has issued added warning urging iDevice owners to NOT update their device to iOS 4.1.

We all know that it is difficult to fisticuffs the urge to update our iDevice, but by doing so this week could attain forthcoming jailbreaking and/or unlocking impossible.

As the Dev-Team notes, there is currently no known way to revert your baseband. By updating to iOS 4.1, the baseband module also update and users module retrograde the jailbreak and ultrasn0w unlock, mayhap forever.

This time of year there are lots of newborn iPhone owners, and not everybody knows that accepting newborn iOS updates is the surest way to retrograde your jailbreak and/or unlock. While those of you who have Cydia or TinyUmbrella backups of your FW hashes module always be healthy to get backwards to 4.0.1 if you attain this mistake, this doesn’t hold for unlockers.

So this week, if iTunes tempts you to update, stay absent from iOS 4.1 until a innocuous jailbreak procedure is available (which is ordinarily pretty quick).

Remember, it’s a trap!
