According to a report from Digitimes, Apple (and its competitors) could be ordered to include curved-glass as conception of upcoming iOS figure models in 2012:
Apple reportedly also has bought render work equipment for its suppliers in preparation for the production of devices fitted with arching cover glass. Lens Technology, Fujinoyama Crystal, G-Tech are said to be major cover render suppliers of Apple. While Lens and Fujinoyama focus on iPhones, G-Tech supplies mainly for iPad.
The last instance we heard most curved-glass was backwards in late-May, in a kindred report from Digitimes, involving the next iPhone. The exclusive other Apple figure with curved-glass was the fourth-generation iPod Nano. It was also reportable Corning debuted their arching Gorilla render at Computex 2011. Corning Gorilla render is currently engaged on both the front and backwards of the iPhone 4, and in my instrument is not as brawny as it should be.
Curved-glass doesn’t really excite me, as I would rather have plexi-glass on my iPhone, you know, in the circumstance of a drop/smash/gasp event.
